The Macallan is releasing 14 new Exceptional Single Cask whiskies this month.
Bottled at cask strength, the first seven, all cask aged in sherry butts or hogsheads between 1995 and 2004, have been sold in only the USA and Asia (priced between $250 and $1,300), packaged in a light grey box with a black foil label.
But it's not all bad news for European Macallan fans as the remaining seven batches are set to be released in November and December 2017 across "key cities in Europe and the Middle East as well as at The Macallan Distillery".
Two Exceptional Single Casks will also be available at selected airports in 2018, packaged in a dark grey box with a gold foil label.
